Getting to Know Ward Morrow
Ward Morrow is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Political Science and the University of Maryland School of Law earning a Juris Doctorate. He spent ten years as a Baltimore prosecutor and ten years as a union side labor lawyer.
Here is a sampling of some of Ward Morrow’s accomplishments and activities:
- Has attended the Maryland Leadership Workshops and Advanced Leadership Workshops,
- Is a graduate of the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) Leadership Program Graduate (Class of 2006),
- Received the Baltimore AFL-CIO President’s Award ( 1984),
- Was appointed by Maryland Governor Harry Hughes to the Governor’s Youth Advisory Council 1979-1985 ( President 1981-1982),
- Was appointed by Maryland Governor Parris Glendening to the Md. Green Buildings Commission (2001-2004),
- Has been a Member of the Maryland Bar ( 1989-current),
- Has been a Member of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland Bar (1990-current),
- Has been a Member of the United State’s Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit Bar (1996-current),
- Is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar.
- Is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernian’s, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s Knights of Columbus (4th degree), and Loyal Order of the Moose ( Essex Chapter).
- Is a member of the Sierra Club-Md Chapter and Local 2-OPEIU, AFL-CIO,
- Is a life member of the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association and the U. of Md. School of Law Alumni Assoc.
- Is an active community member in the Hopewell Pointe Condominium Assoc. ( former Board member), Hopewell Pt.Homeowners Assoc., and current Board Member of the Hopewell Pt. Marina Slip Owners Assoc.,
- Served the Baltimore area as a Board member of the South-East Community Organization-SECO ( 1997-2003; Chair of the Board 1998-2000),
- Gained economic development experience while serving on the Southest Community Development Corporation, Inc-SECDC ( Board of Directors 1998-2002),
- Has previously served on the Maryland State Democratic Central Committee(1985-1986 and 2002-2005),
- Has been active in the legal community serving on the American Bar Association-Labor and Employment Law Section, Administrative Law Section, Lawyers Co-ordinating Committee of the AFL-CIO, the Labor Law, Administrative Law and previously the Criminal Law sections of the Md State Bar Association, and is a member of the American Constitution Society
